Legend The table is shaded to show which cooling units will work at 55°F and 60°F under various thermal loads. The thermal loads are derived from assumptions about the size of the cellar; the R-value in the six cellar surfaces (ie walls, floor and ceiling) and the ambient temperature outside the cellar, as follows:
- The light-shaded numbers represent thermal loads that are within the capacity of CellarPro's 1800 QT, XT and XTS cooling units
- The medium-shaded, bold numbers represent thermal loads that are within the capacity of CellarPro's 1800 XT and XTS, but not the 1800 QT, cooling unit
- The dark-shaded, bold italic numbers represent thermal loads that are within the capacity of CellarPro's 1800 XTS, but not the 1800 XT or QT, cooling units
- "X" indicates conditions that are beyond the capacity of our 1800 Series cooling units
Summary The following guidelines are designed to assist you in selecting the appropriate CellarPro wine cooling unit for your wine cellar:
- CellarPro 1800QT is appropriate for wine cellars up to 200 cubic feet in cool environments with R-12 insulation
- CellarPro 1800XT is appropriate for wine cellars up to 300 cubic feet, provided that the wine cellar is kept around 60°F
- CellarPro 1800XTS / 1800XTSX are appropriate for wine cellars up to 400 cubic feet with R-19 insulation
Analysis We provide the estimated thermal loads for various-size wine cellars at 55°F and 60°F and across a range of ambient temperatures and with different R-Values to help you select the appropriate CellarPro wine cooling unit for your cellar.
Please note: The thermal loads above are calculated based on the R-Values shown for all walls and ceiling, and a concrete floor. Lower R-Values in the cellar (eg from glass doors or walls) will increase the thermal load on the wine cellar. To be certain that the thermal load won't exceed the capacity of the cooling unit, email your wine cellar specifications to us and we'll be glad to assist you.
(1) For reference purposes, the calculated BTUH at 55°F for Breezaire WKC1060 is 1054 and Breezaire WKC2200 is 1328.
